Czechovalia has cut off almost all international ties. It has also censored all of its entertainment. This includes printing press, television shows, movies and films, social media, board games etc.

In order to make sure that the Czechovalian people don’t suffer under the censoring of all Czechovalian entertainment and to ensure that the entertainment industry actually flourishes instead of struggling, Czechovalia produces its own entertainment.

We still use the word entertainment despite heavy censoring and propaganda because it truly is the goal of the media etc to entertain the Czechovalian people. We don’t want to strip away entertainment, we just want to make sure that it aligns with our cultural values and political regime.

One such entertainment product that is entirely Czechovalian made and thus perfectly aligns with Czechovalian values and politics, is one of our family board games.

The game is called The Path of Life. In a fun and interactive way, three to eight people play against each other to live the most successful Czechovalian life. The board game works as followed:

The youngest person begins by throwing the dice. The number thrown is the amount of steps you can take on the board. Considering which place you land on, you do either of the following things:

  • You take a card from the choices stack

  • You take a card from the obligatory stack;

  • You can make the decision of the next card pulled from the choices stack;

  • You can throw again;

  • You need to go back X steps;

  • You can go forward X steps.

As the board game continues on, the point of the whole game is consistently making the correct choices as a good Czechovalian citizen. The choices regard religion, culture, politics, family, tradition, career etc. In short, the choices regard all aspects of life.

Besides these choices, there are also obligatory cards in play. If you pull one of these cards, you have to implement what it says into the game. This could have a positive or a negative impact.

There are also competitive aspects to the game, such as being able to choose for someone else, throwing again, or having to step forward or backward.

The game works with points. Each choice is attributed certain points. These points are stored in a digital manual that resets itself with every game played in order to keep everything new and exciting. By the end of the game, you check with the digital manual how many points you have scored by entering all your choices and obligatory add-ons. The person with the most points is the best Czechovalian citizen and wins the game!

You also get points for your actions against your competitors. You can choose negative decisions for your fellow players, causing their points to be lower, but then you’d risk losing points yourself. Czechovalia is all about comradery and caring for your fellow people. So the game needs to require thought and calculated decisions.

The game allows for both young and old to get acquainted with life’s decisions and life as a Czechovalian citizen in a playful way.

The Path of Life is produced by a branch of the Czechovalian Entertainment Company. This company is under the supervision of the Czechovalian government. The Path of Life is sold in every Czechovalian bookstore, toy shop and large supermarket. The first two locations are sought out explicitly for fun and entertainment, making these places ideal for selling a board game. The board game is also sold in large supermarkets because families often go grocery shopping together, and seeing the board game there would create an easier and more spontaneous environment to buy it. Naturally, the board game is also available on the websites of the three previously mentioned stores.

The game costs 42,95 Czecho. This price includes the digital manual, a usual game manual, the board, the dice, the card stacks and the pawns. Additional sets of cards can be bought separately for 8,99 Czecho. The board game does not contain the batteries for the digital manual.

As for promotion, the stores that sell the board game are obligated to have several point-of-purchase promotions. Around the entrance and throughout the store, there need to be banners and pictures of the board game promoting it. Besides these general in-store promotions, the board games need to be thoroughly differentiated from other games by placing them on separate, attractive shelves. These stores also need to consistently place The Path of Life in the first pages of their brochures and folders. A commercial of the board game is aired on the main children’s television channel, main youth television channel and main family television channel. The same applies for radio stations.

Czechovalia produces a lot of board games, and each one has a certain amount of propaganda in it to improve the Czechovalian way of life and acceptance of the political regime. However, The Path of Life is promoted more than other games, because it is considered the perfect family game with the least amount of conflict but the most amount of excitement and competition.
